Problem

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version.

Solution

Locate and then open the following folder on your computer: C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Msmapi\1033

Right-click the MSMapi32.dll file, and then click Rename.

Just close the outlook and open. It’s works like charm

  1. Hi! I have had this MAPI32.DLL error for the past week!!………tis utterly frustrating………I don`t tell anyone because I hold an MCSE 2000.

AnyHow I did what you specified above, but to no avail!!…………I haven`t `refreshed` the system (warm Boot) yet. And another thing – there is a MAPI32.DLL within the \Windows\System32 directory………….but it`untamperable duew to the atteibutes on the Windows\System32 directory…………..Oh yeah – everything was working fine within Vista Home Premium but I then received a TOSHIBA UPGRADE DVD for upgrading from an existing VISTA O/S to Windows 7

Do you have any relatived info regarding this *.dll error within the WIN7 environment?

    Thanks from Perth, Western Australia – 06-02-2010 – 2251hrs

    Cheers

  2. Hi Wayne

    There is no change location In Windows 7 . C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Msmapi\1033

Otherwise try to find out MSMapi32.dll through search after removing show hidden files and folders option ( Control pannel–>Folder options)
