Error code 58 in netbackup

Here is one of the strange Netbackup issue we faced last week.

MS SQL Database backup failed with Error code 58. Cannot see  any other specific problems in Netbackup server

During the troubleshooting face we went to Database server and check all the services in client. All were started. What we did we restart the serive of Symantec Private Branch Exchange service .

After this we ran backup mannually and it start working fine.

  1. 1st you should check the firewall of 58 error client…make sure that every firewall should be turn off.
    and connect vice versa between master server to Client and Client to master server use below command

    C:\bpclntcmd 13782 – hn Client name
    C:\bpclntcmd 13782 – ip Client IP Address
